The Advisory Panel heads home
The Advisory Panel chooses the Queen’s Young Leaders shortlist
After days of deliberation our Advisory Panel have chosen the young people that will make it through to the next stage of the Queen’s Young Leaders application process.
Over the last week they have read through hundreds of applications from across the Commonwealth and were all impressed by the standard of the submissions.
Hayley Gillies, an Advisory Panel member from the UK, said: “This year’s applications have given us some very difficult recommendations to make. The standard has been exceptional and I am so encouraged by the work of young people across the globe, it is genuinely inspiring. I can’t wait to see what they will all do as Queen’s Young Leaders.”
Aaron Hape, from New Zealand, said: “This being my second year on the advisory panel, I knew that the calibre of applicants would be high. However, the scope of projects, the dedication to their respective causes and the amazing pool of talent has exceeded my high expectations. I’m looking forward to hearing more about the work of this year’s Queen’s Young Leaders and seeing how they develop their already huge talents.”
The winners and the runners-up will be announced in December.
